I would date your marlin model 92 to the year 1907.

I know that you can check with www.wisnersinc.com... they may help you identify when your unit was manufactured.
Too many numbers in that serial number! A model 92 with a serial number in the 98xxx range would be dating to 1894, but they never made any in the 98xxxx range. Maybe you accidentally added an extra digit?
With the last recorded and dated serial number for your rifle being 355,300 in 1906,I would have to say that your marlin model 1892 was probably made in 1907.
The model 92 was made in 1892, thus the model number. Takeing into consideration the rate of production and the serial number, I would say yours was only made a few years after. This would put it at around 1895, give or take. I hope that helped!
Please include the serial number with your question,as this will determine the age of your rifle. The age and condition of your rifle determines the value.
$1000
The Marlin model 92 was never chambered for .32 Winchester! It was chambered for the .32 Long, which is very similar (and interchangeable with) the .32 Long Colt.Marlin 92's were sold with both rimfire and centerfire firing pins and could shoot .32 Long RF or .32 Long CF. by changing the firing pins. You will need to check your's to know which one you presently have in the gun.Wisners sells replacement firing pins in either configuration, if your's turns out to be RF, as that ammo is hard to find. CF is easier to find, but still not readily available either. The Marlin 92 will NOT shoot .32 S&W Long, as that ammo is different.
Maybe 2008? Wiki says calc probably Manuf year = 2100 - first 2 numerals, ie: 2100-92=2008, where 2100 = end of this century. Seems to make sense, as my Marlin 795 starts with 94 (ie: manuf year = 2006) which seems about right.
Yes, there is a kit available which fits Marlin Lever action rimfires from 1891 thru 1939.
