Tiffany Setting
The term means a jewel mounted by using small prongs around the outside of the jewel, typically six equally spaced prongs. This setting shows off most of the stone, and is popular on diamond engagement rings and other large solitaire stones. It is also fairly easy to remove and re-mount the jewel. It was popularized by the jeweler "Tiffany and Company".
