jack Russell's are used for rabbit hunting
It's best to use only a harness made for a rabbit on a rabbit. Although a Jack Russel may be the same size as your rabbit, its body is shaped very differently. An ill-fitting harness that prevents a rabbit from moving normally could lead to serious injury.
We called ours Winchester. He was thin as a rifle barrel when we got him...
i DID
If you got your rabbit from a breeder, ask the breeder or look at the pedigree. If you didn't get your rabbit from a breeder, look at the mane. First, Is your lionhead a junior of a senior? It can be difficult to determine the mane type of a junior. If a junior has a skirt of hair around the hindquarters, it is probably double mane. Most junior manes look the same, so I'll tell you what to look for in a senior. Is the rabbit's mane thin and sparse? Then the rabbit is probably single mane. If the Rabbit's mane is thick and full, the rabbit is probably double mane. Most breeders only breed double mane gene lionheads, if that's helpful at all.
rabbit ear refers to the exposed twin "hammers"on a double barrel shotgun. when seen from the rear they resemble a pair of .....thats right... rabbit ears.
Yes. The 410 does not do as much damage to a rabbit as as 20 guage or a 12 gauge. A 410 is good because it does not take a lot to kill a rabbit, and they are usually shorter in length then the other guns. Rabbit hunting is often done in thick brush and a shorter barrell is easier to control. Plus it puts more of a challange in the hunt. Hunting should be a challenge, otherwise it would be boring. I personally use a 20 gauge with light loads for rabbit. As soon as I can I'm going to get a 410 for rabbit hunting though. It should be a blast. Happy hunting and remember, be safe.
