Air gap flux is termed as useful flux why?

Basically useful fluke is the flux that flows with in the magnetic circuit of an armature. That is why when there is an air gap the flux enters the armature which makes it useful flux! Hope that answers your question!

Where is the air gap module located on the craftsman mower?

The air gap is the distance between the module (armature) and the magnets of the flywheel. Generally 0.010" or so

The magneto air gap is a precision measurement thats taken between the?

The magneto air gap is a precision measurement that's taken between the edge of the flywheel and the ignition coil armature. The flywheel and the crankshaft are held together in alignment by the flywheel key.

What is air gap on cub cadet front pto clutch?

Prior to installation; using a feeler guage check the clearence between the armature assemble and rotor at 3 evenly spaced locations. There should be a gap of .060 and .125 (1/8 inch. if the gap is exceeded the armature and rotor should be replaced. With the clutch disengaged, using a feeler guage check the clearence (Air Gap) at both access slots between the ears of the brake flang. This must be between .010 and .015. Tighten or loosen the brake flange mounting nuts to obtain the proper air gap.

What gap setting is required on a Briggs stratton 12.5 hp engine?

The gap is 0.30. It is on the owners manual ? 10-28-08 That sounds like a spark plug gap. Other specs: Armature air gap: .008-.012 Valve/tappet: .004-.006 intake AND exhaust, cold.

Armature reaction of alternator?

10.9 Armature Reaction in Alternator When an alternator is running at no-load, there will be no current flowingthrough the armature winding. The flux produced in the air-gap will be only dueto the rotor ampere-turns. When the alternator is loaded, the three-phase currentswill produce a totaling magnetic field in the air-gap. Consequently, the air-gapflux is changed from the no-load condition. The effect of armature flux on the flux produced by field ampere-turns (i. e.,rotor ampere-turns) is called armature reaction. Two things are worth noting about the armature reaction in an alternator. First, the armature flux and the flux produced by rotor ampere-turns rotate at the samespeed (synchronous speed) in the same direction and, therefore, the two fluxesare fixed in space relative to each other. Secondly, the modification of flux inthe air-gap due to armature flux depends on the magnitude of stator current andon the power factor of the load. It is the load power factor which determineswhether the armature flux distorts, opposes or helps the flux produced by rotorampere-turns. To illustrate this important point, we shall consider the followingthree cases:(i) When load p.f. is unity(ii) When load p.f. is zero lagging(iii) When load p.f. is zero leading (i) When load p.f. is unity Fig. (10.10 (i)) shows an elementary alternator on no-load. Since the armature ison open-circuit, there is no stator current and the flux due to rotor current isdistributed symmetrically in the air-gap as shown in Fig. (10.10 (i)). Since thedirection of the rotor is assumed clockwise, the generated e.m.f. in phase R 1 R 2 isat its maximum and is towards the paper in the conductor R 1 and outwards inconductor R 2 . No armature flux is produced since no current flows in thearmature winding.

Troubleshoot No firing from armature magneto and spark plug?

air gap improperly set between fly wheel and magneto, bad coil, spark plug harness. Would not hurt to check the spark plug gap and ensure the connector end is tight
