A barroom (bar room) is a location, usually a private business, where Alcoholic Beverages are sold by the glass or bottle for consumption on the premises, typically at tables or at a counter with seats or stools. Other names for a barroom are saloonor tavern. Modern names include bar, pub, cocktail lounge, or public house. Some establishments are also restaurants, or serve food, or provide entertainment. The modern term "sports bar" is a location where drinks and food are served in conjunction with televised sporting events.
