Not everyone has the same blood type. Almost 95 percent of the worlds population is blood type O and A. Blood type O and A, are the thinnest blood and lowest blood volume. A blood type is just a classification of blood base, depending on the "presence or absence of inherited antigenic substances".

What does it mean when someone has the blood type A?

Everyone is born with a different blood type, and what determine blood type are antigens present on your Red Blood cells in your body. These Antigens or in simple term markers tell the body that this is a cell from this body so they don't destroy it. Your blood type A, has a special antigen/marker which are different from other blood type, so this means you can only accept and give blood to people who have the same blood type that way the body won't take the cells as an invasion and attack it.

Does the male determine the blood type?

No. It is determined by both parents. There are two different types of agglutinogens, type 'A' and type 'B'. Type 'O' has no antigens on the surface of the cell. Each type has different properties. The ABO blood type classification system uses the presence or absence of these molecules to categorize blood into four types. Everyone inherits two alleles of the gene, one from each parent. The combination of your two alleles determines your blood type.

Is there a particular diet for each blood type?

Everyone is different, the diet that works for one person will not always work for everyone. One recommendation is to check with your physician to see what they recommend for you.

Can menstrual blood be used for blood work?

It depends what kind of blood work they are taking. If they are taking blood for donating they wouldn't allow it and who would want to take that blood. Everyone has a one of a kind type of blood even down there. The blood is kind of "shed" from the uterus and everyone is different. So they could take it for blood work but it depends what kind of blood work.Thank you

Does everybody in the same family have the same blood type?

Not everyone in the same family has the same blood type. There are two separate genes that determine the blood type a person will have. One is for type such as O, A, AB, or B. The other determines if the blood will be positive or negative. It depends on which genes a person is born with. Both genes are on different chromosomes.
