heavy gauge copper
The open channel flow has a free or rather open surface whereas the pipe flow has a closed surface.
HS stands for High speed Crystal / Resonator SUJITH sujikj<at>gmail.com
a gate valve is a one way totally open or closed valve, a control valve is a variable valve.
A compression shock wave will travel back into the liquid at the speed of sound. In domestic water systems this is called "hammer".
"Resonator" usually refers to the Exhaust system. A resonator is a piece of tubing that is slightly larger in diameter than the rest of the exhaust pipe. It is usually located after the catalytic converter, and before the muffler. Vehicles can have multiple resonators. They also usually have some sort of sound deadening material inside. The name resonator would lead one to believe it makes the exhaust louder, but it is actually there to reduce drone and make a quieter exhaust tone. Resonator can also refer to a chamber in the intake system of the car that serves the same purpose as a resonator in the exhaust system.
Basically you just cut the pipe right before the resonator, and it should come right off. After that you can either weld a new one on (which I wouldn't), put on a extra bit of pipe, or nothing. Mine was ruined, and after I took it off everything was great. It sounds nice when you rev it, but isn't loud or obnoxious otherwise.
Alright, The Cat is located about half way down your exhaust pipe (about 3 feet after the down pipe connects to your exhaust). Your Resonator is located just off your down pipe, a lot of people get that confused. Resonator: Muffles the loudness of the engine vibrations and noice. Cat: Builds heat to burn off left over fuel before it gets the the muffler, also filters out the carbonM.
If is anything like the 1984 500 sec; manifold, down pipe, o2 sensor, cat, resonator, exhaust.
from the motor, you have exhaust headers, then going down u have cat converter, which is look slike awidend portion of the pipe, then the resonator, ( long cylinder on the pipe) and then the mufflers.
I assume your referring to the flexible exhaust pipe that goes under the engine and oil pan out to the resonator ?. simply jack up the car and remove the exhaust pipe at the exh manifold on the front of eng. should be 4 or 6 bolts . do not break the studs off!! use penatrant oil if neccessary. then remove the clamp at the resonator area slide the pipe off . you may have to cut the pipe here with a hack saw if it is one piece or frozen/rusted. then replace it and clamp it back in place with a slip coupler that fits over the two pieces of pipe or weld it if you can.
Pressure rises in the tube.
are you sure they are both cats. some exhaust systems have a resonator after the catylitic converter to help with sound deadening
Water can be evaporated from a sealed container.
the pipe is closed by a gate or ball that cuts off flow through the pipe
exhaust manifold, exhaust pipe, catalytic converter, muffler, tailpipe, and hangers. Sometimes a resonator is included as well
The position of the handle indicates the direction of the opening through the ball, IE. handle in line with pipe, valve is open, tangent to pipe, valve is closed.
