It's called Toxicity. (This is the actual definition)
The previous recommended dosage of intramuscular dosage for a cat is 2 ml. This has now changed do to toxicity of N-SAIDs in cats.
What is the normal dosage for 500 mgm tabs. for a chest infection. 1 tab 3x aday or 1 tab BID or 4 x a day.
measure blood drug levels so that the most effective dosage can be determined, with toxicity prevented.
Lethal dose 50, the dosage at which 50% of animals (usually rabbits, I think) given the chemical die as a result of toxicity.
Two common units of measuring dosage for an animal are milligrams and milliliters.
The most common dosage is 125 or 150 mcg of thyroxine (T4) daily.

Dosage!
The medication is taken orally and dosage is on an individual basis, however, the most common dosage is 500mg (mg = milligrams) at bedtime.
Bear in mind that toxicity is always a combination of the material in question, and the dosage. Pretty much anything can, in sufficient dosage, be toxic. Potassium Chloride (KCl) dissolves easily in water. In giant sized doses it is in fact toxic to humans. But you'd know you were drinking it (as it tastes salty) and in all likelihood you'd vomit it back up long before acute toxicity sets in. As it's not a cumulative, chronic toxicity is not a factor here. So, can you be poisoned by drinking KCl? Not without knowing it. And not without a lot of effort on your part. And even then I have my doubts.
