Something you shove in the gas tank of a car with a lit match on top
Chances are your fuel pump or pressure regulator is bad, or your injection system is not working. There is a fuse for the injection system but it varies in location in every vehicle, some under hood, some in fuse box. Find the schrader valve on your fuel rail and press a pen tip to the valve (just like the air valve in your tires, have a friend try to start the car, if a small squirt or two of gas comes out of this valve when cranking you may have a bad injection control module, if no gas squirts (not dribbles) out chances are your fuel pump is dead. Common causes for a bad injection system or the injectors not operating is the crank sensor a.k.a. crank position sensor / crank angle sensor, the fuel injection system will not recognize that the engine is turning and will not activate the fuel injector units. Good luck!!
The crank sensor on a 2001 Malibu is located on the bottom of the engine near the crank shaft. It monitors the rotation and speed of the crank shaft.
sounds like pluged catalitic converter or egr valve
In most cases the crank pulley bolts to the balancer so the crank pulley would not be the same as the harmonic balancer.
Pulmonary semilunar valve (pulmonary valve)
replaced crank case valve location at valve cover
12 valve engine: front above the crank pulley 24 valve engine: behind the starter.
I have a 2004, colorado, and it dont have a pcv valve, just a hose from the crank to the resonator.
If the engine were to backfire for whatever reason and the pcv valve is stuck open, the backfire could carry into the crank case and ignite the crank case fumes. I have seen valve covers blown off an engine from this situation.
IVC is Intake Valve Closing, is the crank degrees when the intake valve is closed, after TDC(top dead center).
Usually it vents from the valve cover.
over pressureized crank case
On a 1978 Nissan 280Z, the PCV valve is located on the under side of the intake manifold. A PCV valve releases pressure from inside the crank case.
there is no crank sensor on a Mitsubishi 3000 gt but there is a crank angle sensor that looks just like a distributor its in the back of the engine on top between valve covers
It is located on the drivers side of the engine right next to the crank case..........and I think that you mean EGR valve.
YES IT CAN BEND A VALVE WHEN THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE VALVE TRAIN NOT MOVING AND THE CRANK IS STILL MOVING CAUSING PISTON TO COME IN CONTACK WITH THE VALVE THAT WAS OPEN
you will need some tools and valve clearance specification, i think you know that.here may be you are asking about the position of the crank for adjusting the valves. if it is rocker with adjusting screw you can adjust with that. if you have shims on the valve bucket under the camshaft then you can adjust by changing it to the proper size of shim. * adjust any valve which is loose, you can check if the valve can be adjusted or not by rotating the crank about 30 degree clockwise and counter clockwise from the existing position and if the valve does not start to open and stays loose then that valve is in good position for adjusting. * mark the Valves you have adjusted. * rotate the crank one more turn and adjust the other valves. * mark the valves you have adjusted. * if you have still some valves left rotate and make it loose i think this will help you somewhat.
