a spot on the armature that is worn to the point of starter not functioning. a replacement re manufactured starter is in order.
either a dead starter or a bad ignition coil would be my guess
0 degrees top dead center
Dead battery? Loose or dirty battery cables? Bad starter solenoid? Bad starter? Neutral switch?
Generally, 8 degrees before top dead center is typical of Chevrolet V8 engines for many years including your 1985 model.
1. Dead battery (2) Loose or disconnected cable (3) Burnt out fusible link (4) Starter is stuck (5) Bad ignition switch or wiring
Engine Seized? Dead Battery? Loose or corroded battery cables Bad starter? Bad starter solenoid? Bad neutral or clutch safety switch? Bad ignition switch?
I would have that battery tested. May just be a dead cell and most places don't check that without you asking them to.
your starter could be going bad or ur battery is going dead or ur alternator is going dead i'd just take it to a mechanic and have all 3 checked out
your battery is dead or the starter solenoid
pull the vacume line off the fuel pressure regulator on the driver side fuel rail and start the car. if you have gas coming from the regulator it is flooding the engine and is your mane problem.
Seized engine? Dead battery? Loose or corroded battery cables? Bad starter? Bad starter solenoid? Bad neutral safety switch? Bad Ignition switch?
No,there is no circuit protection between the battery and the starter. If the starter is causing a dead short to ground, there is definitely something wrong with the starter. Pull it and have it checked. The switch that engages the high current is inside the starter. If the starter is fried and perhaps something melted to ground, every time you engage it you will get a dead short.
