Why was the Vietnam War was a good decsision?
Hindsight is 20/20. The men that had led us to victory in WWII, and stopped the communists in Korea at the 38th Parallel in 1953, thought they could lead us to defeat the communists again in Vietnam, and we thought they could too. After the TET offensive of 1968, those men that had been victorious in 1945 and 1953, were now surprised at possible failure. It was a good decision then, but a mistake had been made, it was time to pull out.
How does your society view smoking and how has your views changed over the years?
Smokers have always been discriminated against... I feel now, more so than ever. I am not a smoker, but I have no problems with people around me smoking. If they want to hurt their lungs and be unhealthy, that is their own decsision. I don't think the government or even public establishments should have the right to say whether or not people are allowed to smoke or not smoke. Second hand smoke is no fun, but its never killed anyone.
What does it mean when your boyfriend tells your family he loves you?
I love you means a lot of things. If he says it to your family then he means he likes you a lot. If he says it to you then he means it.(this is from the person who asked the question)My boyfriend has told me he loves me many times, but yesterday my grandmother asked him "how much do you like Rachel, do you like-like her or more than like her?"( Rachel being me) and he turned to my grandmother and he said in front of my whole family, "i love like her"So is it a big step that he said that?yes it is a big step.. him expressing his feelings not only to you but to your entire family.. it indicates he does really LOVE you and he wanted your family to know that he really cares about you and he's not just trying to get in your pants..
