the transmission dipstick tube is bolted (1bolt) to the left rear of the transmission bell housing. Remove bolt and pull up on the dipstick housing to remove it from the transmission fluid pan.

To check the fluids in a manual transmission you have to get under the vehicle and remove the fill plug on the side of the housing for a manual does not have a dipstick
I don't think it was designed to have one.
Propping the hood of a 1989 Honda Accord will allow driver to see the whole engine bay. The transmission is on the left and sticking upwards from it's housing will be the dipstick.
Same as on a '97 on the right (passenger side) of the transmission by the fill port (follow the dipstick housing behind that is a part with wires going into it.). It's called a "maintenance free" transmission. No dipstick.
On top of the transmission under the air filter housing.
The transmission is located in close proximity to the engine, usually (in Hyundai's) transversely mounted directly under and behind the engine (behind the engine in terms of: following from the front of the vehicle towards the rear of the vehicle). If you follow the transmission fluid dipstick housing (shaft) down - that transmission fluid dipstick housing will end directly into the upper-most part of the transmission housing.
