DIN is a European system of measuring. A single DIN radio (or CD player, or cassette player) in a car is about 2 inches tall. A double DIN radio, etc, is one that is twice the height of a single DIN.

To answer your question, Yes. I wondered the same thing, I went to BestBuy and I went to the automotive section, got on the Car Finder computer they have back there and it says the Oldsmobile Alero has a Double Din.
