This all depends on what gender your degu is. If you have a male degu, you should get a male degu, but if you have a female degu you should get a female degu. In other words you should get same sex pairs. But oviously if you want to breed get a male and a female, but be warned they breed like crazy!
if you mean what are nippy-er female or male degus females are normally more bitey but it dose depend on the degu as they all have different personality's i have 4 degus 1 female and 3 male one of my males are more nippy than the female.
