An elliptical galaxy is round. A spiral galaxy is shaped like a spiral.
That sounds like the description of an elliptical galaxy.
An egg-shaped galaxy is called an elliptical galaxy. In the Hubble Sequence, they would be E3 or E5 Galaxies. However, there is a galaxy called the "Fried Egg Galaxy" NGC 7742 which looks - not surprisingly, like a fried egg; however, it is a unbarred spiral galaxy.
Most galaxies are shaped like a disk. It's the way they are formed. One of the most beautiful is the Sombrero Galaxy. [See related link for a picture]
