it is a valve made of glass often used in laboratory glasswares such as separatory funnels, burets, etc.
A burette is a glass tube with fine gradations and a stopcock at the bottom, used in laboratory procedures for accurate fluid dispensing and titration.
There are a bunch of things that can cause a stopcock to leak. There are 2 common types: Ground glass stopcocks can leak without proper application of stopcock grease either too much or not enough. It may also have dirty grease or glass. Clean it all off with acetone and reapply a very thin coating of high vacuum grease. The glass stopcock needs to be set in the housing with sufficient pressure to stop leaking. Turn it numerous times while seating the cock. There are various methods for holding the cock in place. Tefflon (plastic) & glass stopcocks should be cleaned with acetone when they are new. Do not use grease of any kind. Make sure that there is no dirt or particles between moving parts…it will scratch the plastic and crate a channel (the plastic part will have to be replaced if scratched). Assemble the stopcock properly. The rubber O-ring should be between the nut and the plastic washer. The plastic washer should be against the glass. Tighten the nut to create sufficient pressure between the glass housing and the cock to stop any leaking. It should still be able to turn easily. Rinse glassware after use and store stopcocks in the open position.
Its just a simple glass jar with a cap on the top and a nozzle+stopcock on the bottom. Its mainly for extracting things from a polar solution to a nonpolar solution(or the other way around). You pour out the bottom layer through the nozzle, and the top layer you pour out the top, to avoid getting impurities that are in still in the nozzle from just pouring out the bottom layer.
The answer will be the sum of the Flask A and Flask B. The Reason: A gas occupies all the space within a container.
A pipette uses a bulb to dispense appropriate quantities of effluent, while a buret uses a teflon stopcock to control dispenses.

Depending what is wrong with it and what type of main stopcock you have, it may need to be serviced or replaced.

Erlenmeyer flask is a conical flask made from glass or plastic, sometimes graduated or with a stopcock; uses: - to contain liquids or powders - to realize chemical reactions - it is the preferred flask for titration - heating of liquids (only in Pyrex glass) See also the link below.

It is more normal to shut off the water supply at the suppliers stopcock (at the edge of your property near the road) when you need to do this. If you can not find the main stopcock to do this, contact your supplier. If you must resort to freezing the mains before your stopcock, you need to get a qualified plumber to do this for you.

An externally operated valve regulating the flow of a liquid inside a pipe.
If your stopcock on your car's radiator is seized you will probably damage it and ruin the radiator if you try to force it. Leave it alone and drain the water through the lower radiator hose. There is little to gain and a lot to risk in trying to get it to work.
