If you have a screen on your erg typically your score is your split time. Another way is by your 2K time.

To most accurately measure your 2k rowing time on a Concept 2 erg just set it so that you are only erging for 2,000 meters. Even if you don't stop right away the erg does. Once the meters stop you not only see the time time you ended with but you also see your average and how long it took you. Hope this helped!
Is it possible while erging a 2k to have a faster overall time than someone with a slightly lower split than you had?
No, unless you have a faulty monitor which i have never encountered. The avg split for 500m has a direct corolation to you 2k erg time
How can you drop your 2k erg piece 30 seconds in 2 months?
That is going to be really tough, the way I see it, if your current time is about 7:30, then it is possible, but if it is below 7:15, you would have to train specifically for 2K's for probably 6 sessions a week, mine went from 7:20 to 7:00 in 2 moonths without specific training, at about the 2nd school eight level of work. I reckon do 3 runs a week, about 3 K or so, and do interval training on the erg e.g. (6-8 x 500m or 4x 1000 at 2K pace) good luck. (it'll also require a shitload of mental strength)

yes, it is.if you are looking to get a good workout, try to do 30 minutes on the rowing machine(erg). I row and erg everyday and i have done every machine in a gym and the erg is the hardest by far.
