I recently went to CDC (central disease center) and a disease that was really big during the 1900's was smallpox. It was very deadly and tragic. Luckily, there is no more small pox carried around the world today, you could say it's "extinct" but the CDC does carry it in their labs. This is a very cool disease to look into. Hope this helped!

Is the national institute of health a good source of information about heart disease?

Yes, the National Institute of Health is one of many sites in which you can find good information about heart disease. If you are looking for general information, large websites such as NIH and the CDC (center for disease control) are excellent places to begin research. If you are focusing on a specific disease, I would recommend looking for the disease in the US National Library of Medicine. This is a research database, which has many great pages with both simplified information and complex and detailed information pertinent to specific health issues and diseases.
