You cannot write a story or novel based on ideas that someone else invents - you won't be interested enough in the subject to be able to research and write anything that will actually sell. Many people assume wolves to be savage, vicious creatures (yeah i know, they basically are) so maybe a good plot would be where the wolf doesn't actually want to hurt, lets say, a girl who is in the forest, and he starts to follow her. Maybe she could get attacked by something and the wolf actually protects her, but he doesn't trust her that much so the whole story could be about how the girl and the wolf become friends. there's a french movie a little like that about a girl and a fox. i love it.
