well the Percy Jackson series is really great, and i love love love the city of bones trilolgy, but they are now making more books, and vladimire tood it way better then it looks, and a single book, halo, and the sweep series by cate tinernan please add more that you like too

If you are okay with an animation, Studio Ghibli movies are good. I recogmend My Neighbor Totoro for younger kids. For older kids Arriety or the Cat Returns are good. If you want to watch live action, for older kids Karate Kid would be okay.
Well, I recommend the book Out Of My Mind. It is a good book! It teaches you that disabled kids are no different than normal kids! But it is very good! :D Don't judge a book by it's cover! (:
