If you are looking for a good reason not to go to confirmation, it may even mean that you are not sure you want to be a Christian - whether you yet realise this or not. Or it could be that you know you are no longer a Christian, but you are looking for a reason to tell your family, so that they will not be disappointed.

If it is the second reason, I'm afraid you are caught between a rock and a hard place. The ideal thing would be for you to tell them that you are no longer religious, but you are worried that you will hurt their feelings. Or could could go through the charade of making promises you do not intend to keep. Perhaps you could ask your family to give you more time, without actually saying that you have already made up your mind - this would give you time to break the news gently, or let them come to the realisation by themselves. Many young people no longer wish to be Christians.

Confirmation is one of the sacraments of Christian Initiation, along with Baptism and the Eucharist. In every other Rite (aside from the Latin/Roman Rite) Confirmation is given along with Baptism to babies less than a week old. Please note that Confirmation in addition to giving you graces that you need to lead a Christian life, like baptism, doesn't do anything automatically.

The only reason that I could see NOT to receive Confirmation is if you truly do not believe in God and are not planning on living as a Christian. If you are still a minor, then you should do what your parents wish, and make every effort to connect with those graces you are given in Confirmation and learn to live as a Christian.

If you run around trying to think of reasons why you shouldn't be confirmed, or you don't want to live as a Christian, then you're just being self-defeating and not helpful to anyone. At least give it an honest try, because, in all truthfulness, you are not going to know what you are missing if you don't at least try to understand and connect with God - you are only hurting yourself.
