Depends on what you want to do with the Mauser- hunting or target shooting. Hunting scopes are usually limited to between 4 and 9 power, target scopes may run 24 power. Would suggest you find a good neighborhood gun shop, and discuss what your uses are, and see what they suggest. Higher power equals smaller field of view. Too much power, you won't be able to find the animal in the scope.
