I like an 8 foot ,medium action rod with a closed face reel for acurate casting. There are advantages to open face and bait casters reels but if you ae not fishing more then a couple times a year I suggest a closed face. You might want to look at getting some BulletBobbers from www.bulletBobber.com if you like fishing more then casting. Closed fac reels don't hold much line and aren't good for casting large plugs because it wears them out too quickly.

The reel is a traditional irish dance danced with soft shoe (gillies) and all irish dancing schools have a different reel. Also the reel is in irish music and one of the four traditional soft shoe dances : reel , light jig , slip jig ,and the single jig,(also referred as the hop jig).
A reel is a type of Irish dance and it is danced in soft-shoe. A treble reel is the hard-shoe version, with the same type of music.
There is a reel, jig, and slip jig for soft shoe dances, and for hard shoe is the hornpipe, treble reel, and treble jig. Hard shoe is much harder to learn than the soft shoe dances!

Where I fish i'd say the bait most used would be minnows. Now if someone asked what lure was mostly used that might be a question with a hundred answers.

I use a Cabala's King Kat 6' 6'' pole with a Cabala's King Kat spin cast reel. I also use an 8' Pinnacle pole with an old Ocean City bait caster. My friend has caught some nice fish with ease on an old Zebco 808, also. I think that is very good too. I use a abu garcia I am not for sure what action it is. It has 50 pound line and a 100 pound leader line. I use an ugly stick with a hard back bone and a pretty soft tip.
