A hard point saw is a handsaw that has had its teeth heat treated to harden them and therefore stay sharp for longer. The teeth are therefore too hard to be resharpened. This treatment is common on disposable handsaws.

You can cut acrylic with a hard point hand saw or even a normal tungsten tipped power saw. if you don't have these try scraping a grove with a new tungsten grout remover. Note if you do it with a hand saw lean the saw well back as you cut and try not to twist the blade. You can also use a scroll saw, and cut out shapes with it, which allows you cut shapes. You can also use a pedistal drill to cut out a hole and you can cut out a shape from the middle of the acrylic
