The harpy eagle (Harpagornis harpyja) is a single species within the family Accipitridae. It does not have subspecies, but it is known for its impressive size and strength, often considered one of the largest and most powerful eagles in the world. Harpy eagles are primarily found in tropical rainforests in Central and South America.
Well a phoenix is a mythical creature, so there is no real answer. This was the best I could do. The Haast eagle was the largest eagle we know of, it is now extinct. The largest living eagle is the Harpy Eagle, from the Harpia genus, which as far as i can tell is the same genus as the Haast (the Haast eagle's scientific name is Harpagornis moorei). So, if the phoenix did exist, my guess would be due to it's size, it would be a bird of prey from the Harpia genus. I have two names:The first is;Harprognatus exornus, which means, "Harpy born from ash"The second is;Harprognatus exincendia, which means, "Harpy born from fire"The first name is more accurate, due to a phoenix is reborn from it's own ashes, although I do like the second one's sound better. Take it or leave it, its all mythology!
The harpy eagle (Harpagornis harpyja) is one of the largest and most powerful eagles in the world, found primarily in tropical rainforests of Central and South America. It can weigh up to 10 kilograms (22 pounds) and has a wingspan of about 2 meters (6.5 feet). Known for its striking appearance, it features a distinctive crest of feathers and strong talons that can measure up to 13 centimeters (5 inches) long. Harpy eagles primarily prey on medium-sized mammals, such as monkeys and sloths, and are considered an apex predator in their ecosystem.
If they're hungry.supplement. In New Zealand there used to be a Haast Eagle, Harpogornis moorei, which was the largest bird to have ever flown. It arrived in NZ from Australia as a fairly ordinary sized eagle, but in NZ it had no competition, and as top predator it rapidly increased in size. It grew to have wings about 3m wide. Its main diet was the large flightless Moa and similar. With the arrival of the Maori about AD1300, it now had a competitor who was even more efficient in killing. It was known to snatch tiny children from Maori settlements, and eventually hunting parties were sent to kill it.I have seen film of a Spanish Eagle that was able to snatch small goats from a cliff, then dropped them to kill them.
