A header is just a tubular exhaust manifold. A pipe is one of the primary tubes. On an 8 cylinder, there are 4 per side/or 1 for each exhaust port. If you buy headers, go aluminized for durability & get the thickest flanges (flat part goes against head-usually 5/16-3/8-3/8 best) since that is the part that typically develops a leak. Have fun.
I would install studs, or struts, on each side of the pipe in question.
un hook the hanger by the muffler then remove the hanger at the point where the pipe bends infrint of the gas tank then the hanger by the cat converter unbolt the mid pipe at the converter un bolt the down pipe from the header then remove the o2 sensor from the header and the egr tube from the header remove 8 bolts unbolt alternator then remove exaust system
half coupling used to take branch from header ie: 2" header to 3/4' branch. where full coupling used to connect to straight pipe. ie: 2" to 2" pipe connection.
Tail pipe, muffler, catalytic converter, clamps and hangers, O2 sensors, header pipe and manifold.
The exhaust valve, the exhaust manifold, the header pipe, the catalytic converter, the muffler and the tail pipe, not to mention the clamps and hangers.
There are race headers avaiable. just unbolt the header from the block but race header might need some fabrication. You would need a muffler shop to weld the end of race header to rest of your mid pipe
Take the header pipe off and pull the washer out where it connects to the head.
normally back to header tank but in some systems where there is no tank there will be a small pipe going through wall to the outside of the property
I found mine in the right side header pipe just below the manifold to pipe connection.
It is in the exhaust pipe between the header and the catalytic converter. That is, it is downstream from the header, and upstream from the catalytic converter. The first O2 sensor is located under the hood on the driver's side. It is located in the exhaust pipe between the header and the catalytic converter. The second O2 sensor is located in the exhaust pipe between the catalytic converter and the muffler. The wire runs up through the floor board where the connector is located under the carpet under the driver's seat.
Drop the header pipe and unbolt the oil pan and drop it.
The shift sensor may be found either on the exhaust manifold, where the exhaust pipe enters the engine block, or it is attached directly in the header pipe beneath the exhaust manifold.
