A holographic card is a card that if you flip it around it will shine and reflect light. normally there just dots all over the Pokemon on the card shining, but not all the time. But don't get this confused with a revers foil that covers all of the information about the Pokemon card reflective and shiny. All holographic cards are rarer then normal cards.
You buy it.

Hello. Most cards you should pay from 10-20 cents for, but if the card has high HP or if the card is holographic those cards are worth a lot more money. If a card is holographic and a 10-20 cent one, it is basically 5x the value, a non holo of the card would be 20cents and the holographic would be a dollar, that is basically how it works with Pokemon card values, and what to spend on them if you are buying INDIVIDUAL cards, for packs pay anywhere from $3-$5. Standard set is the original of the card, the plain flat card. Standard set foil are the holographic(Picture) and parallel set is the reverse holographic (everything but the picture).
A holographic card has a somewhat sparkly background when light reflects off of it. You can tell the difference between a holographic and a non-holographic card as certain color schemes are illuminated on holographic cards.
I think you mean Holo (holographic). Which in that case, it should look shiny or 3D.
The Ancient Mew card can be found real if the entire card is holographic, the attacks and new are in Japanese, and is from the first Pokemon Movie Event.
