That's a very good question: What is a Jehovah Witnesses? First let do look for a definition: The worldwide Christian society of people who actively bear witness regarding Jehovah God and his purposes affecting mankind. They base their beliefs solely on the bible.

What beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses set them apart as different from other religion?

(1) Bible: Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the entire bible is the inspired Word of God, and instead of adhering to a creed based on human tradition, they hold to The Bible as the standard for all their beliefs.

(2) God: They worship Jehovah as the only true God and freely speak to other about him and his loving purposes toward mankind. Anyone who publicly witnesses about Jehovah is usually identified as belonging to the one group- "Jehovah Witnesses."

(3) Jesus Christ: They believe, not that Jesus Christ is part of a Trinity, but that , as the bible says, he is the Son of God, and the first of God's creations.

Jehovah is the common English translation of God's name. See Psalm 83:18. His namesake witnesses are those who actively teach others the good news about him and his great works. See Isaiah 43:10-12, Matthew 24:14, and Acts 1:8.

A person who is one of Jehovah's Witnesses is a dedicated, baptized member of a worldwide religious denomination that originated with Abel, the first faithful witness recorded in the Bible, but it's more modern founding began in the U.S.A. in the late 1800's. Following the divine commission given to all true Christians by their leader, Jesus Christ, active evangelism is practiced by all members of this group (Matthew 28:18-20), the imminent approach of the millennial paradise on earth is preached (Psalm 37:9-11,29; Proverbs 2:21,22), and war and organized government are not supported, as Jehovah's people put their faith in God's Kingdom above all worldly governments. See Daniel 2:44, Matthew 6:9,10, and Acts 5:29.

Jehovah's Witnesses are also neutral in other matters of politics and do not celebrate any holidays having pagan roots, including birthdays. See 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.

As their name shows, Jehovah's Witnesses are Witnesses for Jehovah. Jehovah is the name that Almighty God gives to himself in the pages of the Bible. It is a personal name, not a title like God or Lord. In a general sense, throughout history anyone who witnesses to God's glory could be called a witness of Jehovah.---Exodus 3:13, 15; Isaiah 43:10.

Thus, the Bible, when listing a long line of faithful men of old starting with Abel, calls them "so great a cloud of witnesses." (Hebrews 11:4; 12:1) Outstanding individuals, such as Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and David, are listed as God's witnesses---witnesses of Jehovah. Jesus Christ is called "the faithful and true witness."---Revelation 3:14.

Jehovah's Witnesses adhere closely to the Bible. They have not invented a new religion. They merely follow what is written in the Torah, the Psalms, and the Gospel, which is the foundation of true religion. Here are some of there beliefs; They view Jehovah as the only true God, and Jesus as the son of God, not a trinity. They do not belief in an immortal soul, nor hellfire, nor fate, nor clergy class, nor idolatry. They are neutral in politics. They do belief in resurrection and high moral standards.

No individual is born a Witness of Jehovah. Evey single Witness makes a personal decision. After making an honest search of God's Word, the searcher recognizes the truth, and on this basis he didicates himself to the true God, whose name is Jehovah.
