Animals can perform a variety of body movements. Some of the most common movements include walking, running, stretching, climbing, chewing, and scratching.
Locomotion is like upright balance. When you take gymanstics they will teach you how to control your body and balance, so they will give you different body positions you have to hold which helps you with posture in movements/routines.

moving body appendages in such a way as to provide locomotion for a body.
Muscular
You are possibly thinking of the movements called peristalsis which pass along your gut. Peristalsis is a wave of contraction and relaxation of circular and longitudinal muscles which passes along the wall of the gut. Its function is to push food along. This movement could be described as similar to the contraction and relaxation of muscles in the body wall of worms during locomotion.
