What is a logical explanation for why is the world going to end?

First we need to establish that the world is really going to end. If that is actually true, then knowing 'why' is not going to change the situation!

However, it may worth finding out exactly when the world is going to end, as this might influence our attitudes and behavioral patterns in the remaining time period.

We also might need to make clear as to what is meant by the word 'world'.

'The world' can mean many things, e.g.

1. the planet earth
2. 'the world as we know it'
3. the countries and inhabitants of planet earth
4. all people
5. the universe and everything
6. 'mortal life'
7. secular interests, affairs and activities
8. human affair
9. other 'worlds' such as: the scientific world, the political world, the movie world, the fashion world, etc

If we are able to identify which particular 'world' is going to come to an end, then, and if we have any choice in the matter, there might be a possibility of moving somehow from that doomed 'world' into/onto another one with a more appealing and assured prospect of a better future.
