What is a manifold used for?
The manifold in a car passes air from one central source to each cylinder opening on the cylinder head.
It is the area of the engine where the fuel and air go into the engine. It usually hasthe fuel injectors connected to it. It is bolted to the engine. An intake manifold is used on most vehicles. The intake manifold delivers theair & fuelmixture to the combustion chambers of your engine for ignition.
A manifold leak is usually in reference to a failure of the intake manifold gasket. It can leak air, oil or coolant. It can leak to the outside of the engine or internally into the engine. A manifold leak may also refer to the Exhaust manifold that is leaking exhaust fumes from a bad gasket or a crack in the manifold.

There is a single wire oxygen sensor in the drivers side exhaust manifold. It is toward the bottom of the manifold where the manifold bolts to the pipe.
