A maternity support workers job is to support maternity staff, midwives, doctors and surgeons as well as offering support to pre and post natal women and their babies. Job responsibilities include: * Circulating in obstetric theatre and assisting the scrub nurse * Assisting during ERPC,Ventous, Forceps and suturing procedures * Stocking and cleaning of Theatre and delivery rooms * Correct documentation * Breastfeeding help and support in hospital. * Assisting with parentcraft skills (bathing, nappy changing and dressing) * Assisting with care of post caesarian section and post delivery women * Monitoring patient observations and informing midwives/doctors of changes * Ensuring competancy of action for emergencies ( cardiac arrest, neonatal emergency etc) * Home visiting for breastfeeding support and weighing. * Assisting in antenatal clinics
