It is a sort of cat-like mammal that lived a long time ago, and it was the very first carnivor. Sort of weasel-like. It's fur was mostly dark---wolfish colors. It hunted bugs and looked for plants---Until, that is, some of the Miacisi grew carnassials(cheek teeth) And that led to hunting small rodents and birds,etc.

But in 2004, a Neolithic grave was excavated in Shillourokambos, Cyprus, that contained the skeletons, laid close to one another, of both a human and a cat. The grave is estimated to be 9,500 years old. The cat specimen is large and closely resembles the African wildcat, rather than house cats. The discovery, combined with genetic studies, suggest that cats were probably domesticated in the Near East, in the Fertile Crescent, around the time of the development of agriculture.
