It's simple! All you need is to have a microphone and a control pad both connected to the console!
There is a chat pad that can connect to the microphone port on the controller or you can just use a usb keyboard (doesnt matter if its wired or wireless)
A PAD switch is a term from audio and microphones. Regarding microphones, this switch allows the user to lower the output of the microphone. Some microphones have a -20db PAD switch while others have a -10db PAD switch. Many condenser microphones, for example, have internal pre-amplifiers that gain up the low amplitude of the microphone. Then the PAD switch can be used to lower the signal again so it does not distort at the input end of the console or damage the console or an outboard pre-amplifier. D.
If you go with your microphone very close to a loud sound source, the acoustic sound is converted into high audio voltage. To prevent a too high voltage at the input of the pre-amplifier and to get no distortions there, it s good to damp this voltage by 10 dB. That is why you find sometimes a 10 dB pad switch at better condenser microphones. That pad is made by some resistors making a voltage divider. Scroll down to related links and look at "Calculations: voltage divider (potentiometer) - damping pad".
He's using a basic set up of what looks to be two KP3 (Kaoss pad) with a microphone and directly plugged straight into his laptop microphone jack. Of course with a synthesizer. I have no idea of the names, i'm sure someone can edit it in.

Blow or roar into the ds microphone or press right on the d-pad. If pressing right on the d-pad doesn't work then try the other arrows. You can also use a, b, x or y but to be honest i cant remember.
