The term "multi-function switch" on a vehicle usually refers to the stick (or sticks) on the steering column that controls turn signals, wipers, cruise control, etc.
check the multi function switch. I hava a 96 Chevy Monte Carlo and I had the same problem . I changed the multi function switch and the brakes lights now work. the rear brake lights run thru the switch on the turn signal circuit. try it and see.
its probably a bad multi function switch
what is the function of the switch ? and what does it do ?
Either blown fuse or blown bulbs will cause this. this could cause it but when you have tested all related fuses and light sockets and grounds...you will still be left with the same problem that is a bad multi function switch in the steering column.
turnsignal/wiper switch
Internal to multi-function switch. Multi-function switch is mounted with two bolts. This will be a 5 minute repair.
Your multi function switch is mounted inside your steering column cover The turn signal lever is part of the multi function switch , as is the hazard flasher switch - these are visible outside of the steering column cover Your turn signal lever / multi function switch operates : - turn signals - high beams - flash to pass - windshield wipers - windshield washer
The multi function switch is inside the steering column , for turn signals etc.
Turn signal headlamp switch
It is the turn signal/wiper switch
I am assuming the "multi-function" switch is the TURN SIGNAL/HI-LO BEAM/WIPER CONTROL SWITCH. It is located on the left side of the steering column.
The multifunction switch is the turn signal switch and whatever else is part of it.
