Muscle tissue has a ability to relax and contrastand so bring about movement and mechanical work in various parts of the body. There are other movements in the body too which are necessary for the survival of the organism such as the heart beat and the movements of the alimentary canal

The functional unit of (skeletal) muscle is the sarcomere, which is made of myosin and actin filaments. (The actin filaments move toward each other during muscle contraction). The sarcomeres are lined up one after another to form skeletal muscle.

Smooth muscle, which is found in our intestines and esophagus, as well as other places, is just made of groups of smooth muscle cells, which all contract together in a given smooth muscle area. These cells are connected together, and each one has a tapered end.

Cardiac muscle is pretty much like skeletal muscle, except it is connected by electrical gap junctions, so that the heart can contract as a whole organ.

What is the name of the muscle in the brain?

Though sometimes, some people refer to the brain as a muscle, it really is not a muscle. It is made of completely different types of tissues than a muscle. There are four kinds of tissues in the body; connective tissue, epithelial tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue. The brain is made entirely of nervous tissue and contains no muscle tissue what-so-ever.
