Theres actually two myths about Medusa. The first is about her and Posideon. She was his girlfriend. They decided to meet in Athena's temple (Athena and P. dont like each other for other reasons) and she got offended and turned her into that ugly monster.
The other myth is about how Perseus killed her. He used his shield as a mirror so he could kill her without looking her in the eye; and out popped Pegasus!
