I don't want to answer this. Just want to point out that the meaning of crusade is a protest defending religion
Because people were taught about religious beliefs that they had to adhere to because there would be serious punishment. so it was kind of an obligation to believe in religion. That's why there was a lot of support in the first crusade because people had to participate. This is what i think, i may be wrong
People joined the crusades for religious reasons because they believed in the importance of reclaiming the Holy Land (Jerusalem and its surroundings) from Muslim control. They were inspired by religious fervor, the promise of spiritual rewards, and the desire to protect sacred sites. Joining the crusade was seen as a way to defend Christianity and fulfill a religious duty.
The pope made a very moving speech, which inspired many people including the peasants and encouraged them to fight if they were religious, saying that all they're sins would be atoned for.
I am going on a crusade. I like crusades. would you like to go on a crusade with me?
Crusaders crusade crusades.
Almost certainly you would be a Catholic, although sometimes people wear them for no specific religious reason.
the Muslims had taken over Jerusalem and the Christians wanted it back so the pope called for a crusade. he said that if you fought and died you would go to heaven and that if you survived you would get to see the holy land.
There would have to be a reason why people die, so no.
The weekend starts on Friday and ends on Saturday. The only reason we have Sunday off is because it is a religious day for some people.
One reason is that people at the time were deeply religious, and were told that if they went on these "holy" missions to retake Jerusalem they would receive penance, forgiveness of their sins.

Religion that is Christianity was extremely important during the medieval period. People had a real fear of dying and going to hell to burn for eternity. As a result the church could 'blackmail' people into going on Crusade by saying that if you go on Crusade to Jerusalem you will automatically be forgiven all your sins. They also said that you would be forgiven any sins you commit in the future. People truly believe that they were to free Jerusalem from the 'infidels" so a lot of them willingly went on Crusade believing that they would do this great thing and be saved by God from being killed.
