Scientifically, I don't know, but a lot of people call them "pup mothers" or "queens" (which I don't really agree because queens are cats nursing or expecting kits or kittens). If I could choose, I would call them a pup-mother. Many other people have names for them and that's okay, because I'm not a scientist or an expert researcher. But if you want to know what I would go with (in my personal opinion), pup-mother.
