An onomatopoeia is using sound words to describe something ex. "the car went beep beep! when my mom drove up"
"Zip" is an onomatopoiea word because it sounds like a jacket is zipping up.
I believe so.
Words that sound like sounds: BOOM! crack moo.
Interjections are words or phrases used to express emotion or sudden feeling, while onomatopoeia are words that imitate or suggest the sound they describe. Interjections convey emotions like surprise or excitement (e.g. wow, oh no), while onomatopoeic words mimic sounds (e.g. buzz, sizzle).
"She sells seashells by the seashore," is a poem with alliteration. An example of a simile in a poem is "Her hair was as dark as the night." An example of onomatopoeia in a poem is "The bees buzzed as they flew from flower to flower."
No. An onomatopoeia is a word that represents the noise it makes. >WHAM!> Many times in the original movie of Batman with Adam West in the title role, when Batman & Robin were fighting, giant words showed up on the screen to represent the various hits.
"Purr" would be an onomatopoeia, which is a word that mimics a sound. Other examples of onomatopoiea would be "neigh" for a horse and "moo" for a cow. Alliterations are when several words in a row start with the same sound. An example of this would be "brave brown-haired Brad".
An example of an onomatopoiea is: The waves crashed and smashed against the sea defence, OR The trees rustledin the wind, OR The sausages hissed and spat in the frying pan.
An onomatopoeia is a word that imitates or suggests the source of the sound that it describes. An onomatopoeia in Huckleberry Finn can be found in his description of a summer storm when he uses the word "fst." Of course, there are other examples throughout the book.
