Your parking brake is probably on.

i have a 1999 grand prix mine did the same thing.it is a warning for low brake fluid. i know cause my car goes through brake fluid like water

This light is for brake on/problems with the brake. Check your brake fluid level and ensure it isn't dipping below the sensor on the master brake cyllinder. I had this happen to me during winter.
The transit brake warning light, on a Ford, can be reset by changing the brake pads. If the warning light is still on after changing the brake pads remove the fuse for 10 seconds.
Either the brake fluid level is LOW in the brake master cylinder located in your engine compartment , or the parking brake / emergency brake is on
