Portable oxygen concentrators (or POC's) are a portable device used to provide oxygen therapy to a patient at substantially higher concentrations than the levels of ambient air. It is very similar to a home oxygen concentrator, but it smaller in size and more mobile. The portable oxygen concentrator makes it easy for patients to travel freely; they are small enough to fit in a car and most of the major concentrators.

Functionality;

The ambient air we breathe contains about 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% of mix of other gasses. The POC has the main role of taking as much of the nitrogen out of the air as is physically possible while its still leaves the essential oxygen. To be able to do this, the POC draws in air through the inlet filter where a compressor unit compresses the air and moves it into the first of two cylinders. These are called the zenolite tower it is these that contain sieve beds. The sieve bed's job is to become saturated by the nitrogen. A valve then opens. this makes a puffing tone or sound that can be heeard and then the oxygen is pushed into a second zenolite tower whereany additional nitrogen is removed while the nitrogen in the sieve bed is released out of the unit. The oxygen, now at around 95% purity, also leaves the unit and travels to the user.

How does the oxygen concentrator work?

An oxygen concentrator works by pulling in air, removing nitrogen through a filtration process, and delivering concentrated oxygen to the user through a nasal cannula or mask. The device uses a molecular sieve bed to separate oxygen from nitrogen in the air, providing a higher concentration of oxygen for people with breathing difficulties.

How does an oxygen concentrator work?

An Oxygen Concentrator take atmospheric air passes through inlet filter,muffler and passes to compressor after that air is cooled by using a heat exchange chamber after that air goes through sieve canister.Inside the sieve canister the material called zeolite it absorbs nitrogen from air and gives oxygen as an output.The flow can be controlled by flow meter. 3 way valve is used to controlled by signal gives by pressure transducer.The heart of the oxygen concentrator is sieve canister and zeolitematerial.kannanEngineer99949-54450

Benefits Of The In-Home Oxygen Concentrator?

Many people require the use of an oxygen concentrator to help ease breathing problems associated with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other problems associated with difficulty breathing. Prior to the advent of the oxygen concentrator, patients had to use cumbersome cylinders or tanks to supply vital oxygen needed to breath. In addition, concentrators do not house oxygen in liquid or gas form, but take it out of the atmospheric air. One of the greatest benefits of oxygen concentrators is that the patient does not have to worry that they will run out of oxygen, as the concentrator does the unit does not store oxygen.In contrast to cylinders or tanks, the oxygen concentrator does not have to be refilled. Prior to using a concentrator, patients had to send the tanks back to the company to get a refill, however, now, this is a thing of the past. Since the oxygen concentrator is available in a variety of different models and sizes, patients have a better choice of which one will work best for their needs. Many patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are frail and weak, and therefore are unable to carry around a heavy unit. Because many of these units weight less and are smaller than the older tanks and cylinders, patients are better able to comply with their oxygen treatment plan.Of course, perhaps the greatest benefit of the oxygen concentrator is the peace of mind to the user. When a patient fears that they will run out of oxygen, they become anxious, further disrupting their already precarious breathing pattern. By knowing that their unit will never run out of oxygen, they can literally breathe better knowing their health will never be compromised as a result of a shortage of oxygen. In addition, a concentrator does not pose the risk that oxygen will escape the unit, potentially posing a fire hazard. Oxygen can leak out of cylinders and tanks possibly causing a fire. Patients also enjoy the longer lasting rechargeable batteries that most oxygen concentrators come equipped with. In addition, travel by airplane and train might be easier since the advent of concentrators, since they can now be easily taken aboard planes and trains.

The Benefits of a Portable Oxygen Concentrator?

Thousands of people every day need a higher dose of oxygen in order to breath properly. In some cases, this is a permanent problem. It wasn’t very long ago that the only way that this oxygen could be provided was through a tank or a cylinder. Thankfully, there is a new option that came into existence about ten years ago. It is known as a portable oxygen concentrator. These portable devices are different from tanks and cylinders. Rather than storing oxygen, they extract it from the air. This ingenious device sets patients free from their tethers, giving them the freedom to walk around without being worried about running out of oxygen.The most obvious benefit of a portable oxygen concentrator is the fact that it never runs out of oxygen. It’s not a complete free for all, of course, because it does require electricity in order to work. They are usually made with a rechargeable battery. The good news is that as long as their is a nearby power source, a patient does not have to be concerned about running out of oxygen. This creates the additional benefit of not needing to be refilled.There are several different kinds of portable oxygen containers that can be used for various different purposes. They are much smaller than any other option, and give people a great deal of flexibility. Fourteen models have been authorized for use in airplanes, meaning that a patient now has the freedom to fly from location to location, not being tied down to one place.Portable oxygen concentrators are safer than cylinders or tanks of oxygen, since they can not leak. Oxygen is not directly flammable, but it can cause fires to become much more intense. Concentrators do not come with this risk because they do not carry around large quantities of oxygen.Another benefit of concentrators is that they can actually be used to fill the traditional oxygen containers as well. This way an oxygen container does not need to be sent away to be refilled, it can instead be refilled right in the home. Portable oxygen concentrators give patients the freedom that they may never have thought they would find again.

What is maximum effective length of tubing from concentrator to cannula?

That depends on you. You can try add another 50 feet of tubing for a total of 107' (which includes the 7' cannula) so that you can work out in the garage without having to move the concentrator out there every time.

What is definition of portable drilling machine?

One that can be picked up (single-handedly or not) and moved to the work, rather than being bolted to a bench or the workshop floor. Some portable drilling-machines have magnetic bases, for use in steel-fabrication tasks.

How do Portable ice makers work?

Portable ice makers work like any traditional freeze ice maker. Water is pumped into the rotating ice tray. The compressor and fan then freeze the water into ice. Then a warm refrigerant causes the ice to be released into the bin.
