1 problem dally goes through is, when johnny cade dies he robbed a store and basically committed suicide and realized that johnny was the only thing he ever loved
Dally worries that if Johnny goes to jail he'll turn mean and dangerous just like what happened to him.
The Oldest Greaser In The Novel The Outsiders Is Either Dally Or Darry They're Both Around The Same Age ;
Ponyboy rapes Dally....ate his dog... the licks himself..... then he goes and marries a cow who he had 17 kids with , and then they divorsed, so he got so depressed he killed his daughter and ended up in a mental hospital. there ponyboy saw Dally and they lived happily ever after :)
Dally's view of Pony at the beginning of the novel did was that he was a young, and not at all tough. Dally then experiences Ponyboy change in to a tough and brave greaser. This is shown as Pony describes Dally as someone who he 'didn't like him, but he was smart and you had to respect him.' This implies that Dally knew he didn't like him and that Pony was scared of him this also implies that Dally doesn't like him back because he is the weak member of the gang who doesn't like to break the law. But then he changes into a tough member of the group when there is a fire in both the book and the movie Johnny and Pony run in and save the kids and Dallas gets angry with Johnny for doing this and this is because he wouldn't have done it even though he is meant to be the brave greaser instead Johnny and Ponyboy did and they're meant to be the weak ones of the group this shows a drastic change in Ponyboy.

Dally is different because he is the baddest and the toughest. He has the worst criminal record out of all Greasers. He only loves one person and is over protective of him. Which is Johnny. He loves him like a brother or even a son.
Johnny represented innocence to Dally, who had lost his own innocence at a young age. Throughout the book Dally goes to great extents to protect the innocence in Johnny, and when Johnny finaly dies it causes Dally to snap and intentionaly get himself killed because he feels that all that was good and innocent in his life is lost along with Johnny. When Johnny is jumped and beaten by the socs it upsets Dally because he doesn't want to see Johnny become hardened to the world. The beating causes Johnny to become paranoid and carry a switchblade, evidence of the loss of innocence that Dally so strongly abhorrs.
Dally goes to meet the Greasers out in the park because Jonny was beaten half to death by Bob one of the socs.
At the end, Dally is unable to comprehend the fact that Johnny is really dead. He goes on an emotional ride. First in the store where he robs the guy and starts running. He then calls Darry for help, but as he is running to them the police catch him. Darry pulls out a gun and the police shoot him until he stopped moving in front of the gang. His last words were Ponyboy.
Dally had a girlfriend before the book, who is mentioned when Steve asked him if he he broke up with Sylvia again. It goes like this: [Steve:]"You break up with Sylvia again?" [Dally:]"Yeah, and this time it's for good. That little broad was two-timin' me again while I was in jail."
Johnny and Ponyboy.
Dally enters the burning building because of Johnny. I'm not sure what part you're at but as you know Johnny idolizes Dally and I'm pretty sure Dally really cares about Johnny. After Ponyboy gets out of the church, Johnny gets hit with beam and Dally goes in to save him. Hope this helps!
