i think people love Nelson Mandela because he fighted for apartheid between blacks and white people and stayed in jail. i think people loves him too because he is a Good leader to his people
Just like MLK, Gandhi, and JFK he fought for the equality of man and spent years in prison because of that fight.
very simple.... because his handsome..
Nelson Mandela is revered for 2 reason's: his opposition and eventual defeat of the apartheid regime and his creation of the first multi-national democratic government. He was born into a country where whites ruled and 'coloureds' were segregated and this had existed for almost 300 hundred years and he was able to defeat this. After being elected in the first ever democratic elections he created a 'new' south Africa where whites and 'coloureds' were treated economically and politically equal
South African president F.W. de Klerk removed the ban on the African National Congress and released him.He got out because the president that put them in jail (P.W. Botha) in the first place died and the guy who took his spoot ( Frederik Willem de Klerk) freed Nelson and all the other people in jail with him for the same reason Nelson was put in jail-Hope this helps
My opinion--- For one, I think Nelson Mandela's speech was a lot more motivating than Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke about HIS dreams. He talked about what he saw in his dreams and how he wanted the people to dream about the same thing. Nelson Mandela on the other hand, spoke to the people about what everyone should do. For some reason it seems as though Mandela's speech is more commanding. Or if you want to say more drilling. It, to me, seems that the way he spoke in his speech, would make me want to listen to what he said, and put his words into actions.
Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison. He was forced to perform hard tasks. But his charm and intelligence bore him through the hard ordeal with chin up. He was a leader among his comrades and inspired them. His dignified defiance made even officials to do his will. He emerged a mature leader from the prison.
The white minority ruled South Africa. The black majority was kept in an inferior position. Nelson Mandela was jailed for 27 years
He stood up for what they believed in. The only reason that he was different was he went to prison for standing up.
The main reason is that he commanded the British fleet at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 and inflicted a devastating defeat on the combined French and Spanish fleets. This established Britain as the undisputed leading naval power, a position that wasn't seriously challenged till just after 1900. Please never confuse this Nelson with Nelson Mandela.
Well not many people know this but yes there were people fighting against each other etc. etc. But the main reason apartheid was scraped from the books is because a few years back there was a vote where 51% of the white population voted against apartheid and that black people should have a vote while the other 49% voted for aparthed (I can be wrong but it really is this close). It was decided that black people should have the right to vote by 51% of white people because they originally didn't have a vote. This caused Mandela to come out of prison eventually. Thus, it wasn't Mandela or anyone from ANC who made apartheid stop but actually the white people who where sick and tired of fighting for something that would inevitably be lost.
Mandela, Desmond Tutu, and Steven Biko were all important for the simple reason that they fought hard to give their people equality. They each did all that they could in order to make it safe and equal for the African people when they were ruled by the whites.
One reason to celebrate Geography Day is because you are proud of where you live.
Because in the north, the sun is rarely seen.
It is to celebrate the day of your birth. and the reason why peoples 18th birthday is so important is because they are growing into an adult.
