It's only worth what someones willing to pay I'd shell out maybe $300 but I've seen them go for $1,500 and up to about $2,000 I usually see them for around $1,000 but it just depends on condition and who is buying.
If it's a fist addition, about 2000 dollars, if it's a second edition, about 400 dollars.
i would say that the most common one would be the Schwinn apple krate i have the lemon peeler and Columbia playbike
2000
The Schwinn Krate bicycles were produced from 1968 to 1972 and were offered in 6 colors. The colors are Orange (Orange Krate), Red (Apple Krate), Yellow (Lemon Peeler), Green (Pea Picker), Grey (Grey Ghost), and White (Cotton Picker). The Orange, Apple, and Lemon Krate were offerd in all model years. The Pea Picker was added in 1969 and all remaining model years. The Cotton Picker was produced in 1970 and 1971 and the Grey Ghost was produced in 1971 only and therefore is the rarest original color.
The Schwinn Apple Crate, Lemon Peeler, and Orange Crate bicycle's were new in 1968. But Invented? Who knows. The first one I saw was back in the 1960's The kid across the street from me's dad was a machinist that build choppers on the weekends, and he built the coolest ever chopper bike out of a Schwinn Stingray for his son.
