'Sounds like heel warts. Sometimes they reside on places like the edge of the foot, or middle part of toes. Can be itchy or actually quite painful. The cure is Salisylic acid (can buy Duoforte (tm) in a tube, or better still, get your doctor to freeze-burn it off (using liquid nitrogen).
