Canyon
A long, narrow valley between high cliffs is a canyon. Canyons within mountains, or gorges that have an opening on only one side are called box canyons. Slot canyons are very narrow canyons, often with smooth walls.

Submarine Canyons
If a waterfall continues to retreat, it will eventually create a gorge or canyon. As the water erodes the rock behind the waterfall, it deepens the valley, forming steep cliffs on either side. Over time, this process can lead to the creation of a dramatic landscape characterized by a narrow and deep chasm.

"Gully" refers to a narrow valley with steep sides, often formed by running water erosion. It can also refer to a water-worn ravine or a drainage ditch along the side of a road.
Fjords are found in locations where current or past glaciation extended below current sea level. A fjord is formed when a glacier retreats, after carving its typical U-shaped valley, and the sea fills the resulting valley floor.
