there are multiple answers to this question. In this day and age, I think, the best answer would be a graphic designer, of some kind. Popular/media art, the kind of art that you get paid to make, is done mostly by computer hence graphic designer.There are sub categories of graphic design such as an illustrator. This type of art involves a good sense of layout and color interaction. You also have to know how to convey emotion through image. Illustrators can make art for children books or they might make a characateur of a famous person for a magazine. They might make posters, or design a CD cover. You can use mix media/multiple mediums as a graphic desigener. There is also logo design, you should have a good grasp on negative and positive space. Logos need to be eye catching. Or a textilelist, they may make patterns for cloth and maybe text. There is a name for people who only make new text, I don't know what. If none of this interest you you could always become a teacher, teach art. But basically your not going to make money easily any which way but the easiest way is to make art for the media or advertisements.
