A throttle body on the jaguar s type is a full electronic controlled air valve. this valve controlls the amount of air delivered to the engine. on older cars this is usually attached directly to the accelerator pedal but in the jaguars case this is controlled independently by the engine computer. it does this to incorporate cruise controll,traction controll and controlls the speed the throttle opens to limit emisions. notoriously unreliable always expensive and unfortunatly indespenceable.

The throttle position sensor is located on the throttle body. If you follow the throttle cables to the throttle body the TPS will be on the oposite side of the throttle body as the cables attach to.
