A transaxel is the same thing as a transmission except its for front wheel drive cars
Yes. If the sensor is out of the transaxel it may not know when to shift into the next gear, leaving you in first gear, high rpm's and it could possibly grind down the housing.
Yes, it is.
Manual Transaxel capacity: 2.5 Litres (2.6 US Quarts) Automatic Transaxel capacity: 5.7 Litres (6.0 US Quarts)
Automatic is filled through the dipstick tube. You will need to find a funnel that fits into this tube. These are available at the auto parts stores. Manual is filled through the transaxel housing. You will probably need to remove a tire to get access. There should be two bolts on the transaxel housing, one for draining and one for filling. Remove the fill bolt and use a funnel as described above.
The trans axle is the transmission on a front wheel drive vehicle
in transaxel assembly closer to the passenger side kbutlrtech@yahoo.com
It has two busted gears, Either get a transaxel rebuild kit and do it yourself, Or get a new transaxel. alot cheaper to do it yourself.
check your crank sensor it might need to be adjusted or replaced
In front behind the engine. Follow the axels from each front wheel assembly, they will connect to the transaxel.
The filler plug is on the front of the transaxel housing. It's the largest bolt there. access it from under the car. It's right behind the elbow in the lower radiator hose. You'll need an adjustable wrench or a 30mm socket. Be sure not to over-tighten it when you're putting it back into the transaxel housing.
AW4 uses Dextron. All other automatics use Mopar ATF+3 or ATF+4.
The two bolts are reachable only ewhen you remove the air filter assembly and the battery. They can be found on the back/top part of the transaxel housing. One is adjacent to a bolt that secures the transaxel housing to the engine. The upper starter bolt is just slightl to the rear of it. ayou'll need a 14mm wrench for both bolts.
